The Property

What Sets Canyon Gate Pools Apart

Roughly 670 custom estates behind the gate at Sahara and Buffalo, built around a Ted Robinson championship course. Canyon Gate is one of the valley's original guard-gated golf communities, and that maturity changes the maintenance calculus in ways newer communities never see.

I
Mature Landscape Debris Load

Canyon Gate's tree canopy has had four decades to establish, which is rare in Las Vegas. Palms, olives, and mature ornamentals shed leaves, fronds, seed pods, and pollen year-round. Organic debris left in the water breaks down into phosphates that feed algae and stain plaster. Skimmer baskets fill faster here than almost anywhere else we service, so basket checks, netting, and brushing carry more weight on every visit.

II
Pools Built Across Four Decades

The bulk of Canyon Gate homes were built between 1985 and 1995, which means the pool stock ranges from carefully maintained originals to full remodels and everything in between. Replastered surfaces, mixed-generation equipment pads, and original plumbing runs each demand different attention. Aged plaster in particular is far less forgiving of unbalanced water, which makes disciplined LSI management the single most important thing a service company does here.

III
Golf Course Exposure

Homes line most holes of the Ted Robinson course, and fairway frontage brings more than a view. Wind carries fairway dust, grass clippings, and fertilizer drift into pool water, adding nitrate and phosphate load that sheltered backyards never deal with. Filter pressure builds faster and chemistry drifts sooner. We account for course exposure in both the cleaning routine and the chemical plan.

IV
Spa Combinations and Water Features of the Era

Raised spas with tile spillways, rock waterfalls, and attached water features were signatures of this community's build era. Spas run hotter, consume chemicals faster, and scale sooner, so we test and balance both bodies of water independently on every visit. Spillways and feature tile are included in the weekly brushing routine. They do not get skipped because they're secondary structures.

Water Chemistry

Your Water Arrives Already Unbalanced

Las Vegas municipal tap water doesn't arrive at your pool in a neutral state. Before a chemical is added, before summer begins concentrating minerals through evaporation, the water going into every pool in this community is already pushing toward scale-forming conditions.

ParameterLas Vegas TapTarget RangeStatus at Fill
pH~8.07.4 – 7.6Already high
Total Alkalinity~120 ppm80 – 120 ppmAt upper limit
Calcium Hardness200–250 ppm200 – 400 ppmWill climb fast
LSI at Fill+0.4 to +0.6–0.30 to +0.30Scale-forming

That starting LSI only climbs from there. Summer heat pushes water temperature into the mid-to-upper 80s, which increases calcium carbonate saturation. Up to half an inch of daily evaporation concentrates everything further with every refill. And in a community where much of the plaster has decades of service behind it, scale-forming water does visible damage faster than it would on a fresh surface.

We use full LSI-based calculations on every visit, corrected for actual water temperature and true carbonate alkalinity, not the inflated number on a test strip. The practical result is catching scale conditions before they deposit inside a heater or on aged plaster, rather than diagnosing the damage after the fact. Salt pool in the household? See our saltwater pool chemistry management.

pH 8.0
Average Las Vegas tap water pH at fill, already above the 7.4 to 7.6 target before any chemical is added
½ inch
Peak-summer daily evaporation rate, up to half an inch per day, concentrating minerals with every refill
84–88°F
Unheated Las Vegas pool temperature in summer, enough heat to push already-elevated water into active scale formation
6 Factors
LSI variables tested every visit: pH, alkalinity, calcium, temperature, TDS, and CYA-corrected carbonate alkalinity
Equipment Service

Systems We Diagnose & Service

Canyon Gate's pool equipment spans generations, from original single-speed pads that have never been touched to fully modernized variable speed and automation setups. We service both ends of that spectrum and everything in between.

Variable Speed Pumps

Pentair IntelliFlo, Hayward MaxFlo VS, and similar. Programming, diagnostics, and repair, handled on-site. Still running an original single-speed pump? We'll tell you honestly what a VSP upgrade would save on a pool this age, and what it wouldn't.

Heaters

Pentair, Hayward, Raypak, and Jandy. Ignition diagnostics, heat exchanger inspection, and proactive scale management. Older heaters that have run years of unmanaged positive-LSI water are the most common equipment casualty we see in established communities like this one.

Filters

Cartridge and DE filter cleaning, inspection, and replacement. The mature canopy and golf course exposure at Canyon Gate load filters with organic debris and fine particulate that accelerate pressure buildup well beyond the typical Las Vegas rate.

Salt Generators

Cell inspection, descaling, output testing, and salt level management. LSI-adjusted chemistry to protect cell plates from calcium scale, which is critical given Las Vegas tap water starts scale-forming at fill.

Pool Automation

Pentair IntelliConnect, IntelliTouch, and Hayward OmniLogic on remodeled pads, plus legacy control systems on original ones. Remote access setup, sensor calibration, panel diagnostics, and fault resolution.

Aging Pad Assessments

For original-equipment pools, we provide a straight assessment of what's still serving you well and what's approaching end of life, with documentation you can plan around. No scare tactics, no bundled upsells.

The Standard Canyon Gate Homeowners Expect

Certifications That Matter Here

CPO certification, credentialed through the Pool and Hot Tub Alliance, means chemistry managed to commercial-grade standards. On the aged plaster and long-serving equipment common in this community, the difference is material. Nevada Contractor License #0091918. Full general liability insurance and bonding.

Experience With Established Pools

A pool built in 1990 does not behave like a pool built in 2020. We've been servicing pools since 2016 across the valley's older luxury communities, and we know how remodeled surfaces, legacy plumbing, and mixed-generation equipment pads actually behave, and how to care for them without manufacturing problems.

No Contracts

We don't require contracts. You stay because the service is consistent and the pool reflects it, not because paperwork obligates you to. For a community where expectations are already high, that accountability structure works in everyone's interest.

You Know What Happened Every Visit

After every service visit you receive a digital report with actual chemistry readings, what was adjusted, and any equipment observations noted. For homeowners managing a significant property investment, that documentation matters. You're not taking anyone's word for it.

Common Questions

Answers for Canyon Gate Homeowners

Do you service pools that back to the golf course?

Yes. Fairway frontage is common throughout Canyon Gate and we account for it. Faster debris accumulation, more thorough basket checks, and filter pressure monitoring that reflects the additional particulate and fertilizer drift from the course.

Our pool is original to the house. Is that a problem?

Not at all, and it's common here. Older pools mostly need what every pool needs: disciplined chemistry and consistent cleaning. The difference is that aged plaster and long-serving equipment are less forgiving of neglect, which is exactly why LSI-managed water matters more on a 1990 pool than a 2020 one. If something on the pad is approaching end of life, we document it and give you a straight answer.

The trees drop a lot into our pool. Does weekly service keep up with that?

Yes. The mature landscaping is one of the defining features of this community and one of the defining maintenance factors. Weekly netting, brushing, and basket cleaning keeps organic debris from breaking down into the phosphates that feed algae. During heavy shed periods and after wind events, we adjust the routine accordingly.

What does "no contracts" mean in practice?

It means the service relationship continues as long as you're satisfied with the work. No cancellation period, no early termination fee, no automatic renewal to watch for. Call or text to stop and that is it.

How do I get started?

Call or text (725) 210-7444 or submit a quote request online. We'll confirm availability in your part of the community, assess your setup, and get you on the schedule.
